Sky hosts race day dedicated to licensees

As a way of saying thank you for being valued customers, Sky recently welcomed a group of licensees and their guests to Plumpton Racecourse for a day’s hospitality at the races.

The day formed part of Sky’s ‘Everyone Loves a Local’ campaign, which aims to highlight the importance of pubs to their local community.

All the licensees that attended the event have Sky Sports in their venue, and Sky Business were keen to offer them a well-deserved break from behind the bar.
Guests were hosted in a box and given the VIP treatment with a few surprises on the day to get them in the racing spirit. This included being joined by leading jockey Nico De Boinville, and Sky Sports racing presenter Hayley Moore for an insightful chat. They were also given entry to the paddock to select the ‘Best Turned Out’ horse, as well as the opportunity to present trophies to the winners.

‘Everyone Loves a Local’ branding was visible across the course, and the races were renamed to give a nod to Sky’s valued customers in the hospitality industry.
The licensees all gave great feedback about how much they enjoyed being on the receiving end of hospitality for a change.  Christine Baker from The Foresters in Dartford said “It’s been a really lovely day out. It’s the first time I’ve been to Plumpton. I do love the racing, but don’t get the opportunity to go. But I always have it on the TV.”

The racing at Plumpton was shown live on Sky Sports Racing, which is available to Sky Business customers via the Race Pack. Hayley Moore said; “I think it’s just great if you can come racing, but going and enjoying the sport at your local pub is also terrific, and something I’d highly recommend.”
