Following outstanding work on the sustainability front, Robinsons Brewery have been awarded Sustainability Champion status – Company Edition. Robinsons have implemented a variety of sustainable initiatives across the business, including their managed pubs, production sites and the famous headquarters based in the heart of Stockport’s redevelopment area. The vast number of changes made by Robinsons demonstrates that all companies can take actions to make themselves more sustainable, no matter their size.
Recognising the need to limit their greenhouse gas emissions, Robinsons moved to a 100% renewable energy contract across all managed pubs, production sites and their head office. Company wise, they have introduced a Sustainability Lead in the last 12 months whilst also opening up two green job roles for placement students. In addition to this, Robinsons have developed and delivered Carbon Literacy workshops for their head office in order to engage employees in their sustainability journey and promote workplace climate action. They also ensure that there is regular internal communications about what is going on in all areas of the business relating to their sustainability strategy.
Robinsons’ Retail Environmental Champion, Isabelle Masters, commented on the company’s pride at the sustainable actions they have undertaken:

We have not only networked and worked with other pub and brewery companies to support and guide each other, but also smaller community based charities to spread awareness of inequalities people in our community face – such as our work with Cracking Good Food.
It is grounding to know that no matter how large a business is, we are all on the same journey together and must align our goals.”
