We believe that strong communities are built through partnership and collaboration. That’s why we work closely with a wide range of local organisations and community groups to provide support, raise awareness, and create opportunities for everyone.

We collaborate with mental health support groups, homelessness outreach services, women’s domestic abuse organisations, local grassroots girls’ football teams, and many other community partners. We also welcome guest speakers who provide valuable advice and information on topics such as wills, health and social care, wellbeing, and accessing local support services.

Our activities extend beyond the pub. We organise community trips, social events, and inclusive activities that bring people together, helping to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and create lasting friendships.

One example of going above and beyond for a member of our community involved a local lady who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. She had no close family who could support her, so members of the Clifton Arms and the wider community came together to ensure she was never alone.

Volunteers helped by taking her to medical appointments, shopping for essentials, checking in on her daily, and providing companionship during an incredibly difficult time. As her illness progressed, the community continued to support her with kindness, dignity and compassion.

When the time came for her final journey, the community rallied together once again, raising funds to ensure she could have the dignified farewell she deserved. It was a truly heartfelt example of how our community comes together to care for those who need it most, demonstrating that no one should have to face life’s most difficult moments alone.
