About The Pendas Arms

It is built entirely within a developed, post-war residential suburb of a major city, it is firmly classified as a suburban or town-based estate local. We are at the heart of the community and are one of the only local hubs left for people to meet up in Whinmoor. We pride our selves with being well integrated in the community.

The pub is used for all occasions and just for day to day use by many. We hold many free events for all the family. As I write this I am  stood with one of my regulars Ryan, who describes The Pendas Arms as “great”.

Since moving in we have bought the community together. We put on free events and gatherings for al ages. We also host people’s birthdays, anniversaries and weddings etc. we are trying to work close with local charities.

About the Local Community

We have the local rugby teams in regularly and also try and support external charity groups.

We had a regular who unfortunately passed. A group of his friends set up to raise money to support his family we donated £500 out of our own money to support his family, held the wake at the pub free of charge and put a plaque up in the pub for him

About Local Businesses

We advertise local businesses and events in and around the pub. And always recommend local businesses to people. We also try to attend and donate to local events where possible. There are some local businesses that have done competitions which I have shared across my social media platforms We have only been here but have already got fantastic relationships with a the local small businesses but we hope to make them bigger and better as time goes on

Ourselves and the local businesses all have a good relationship between us. It is a very tight knit community which is a good thing all round for us all. We all help each other out and are happy to promote each others businesses. I

About Staff at The Pendas Arms

We try and support our staff in any way we can. We offer extra training and support with in work but also offer support woth their mental and physical help when required. We are a tight knit team and we all help each other out with our children and I have helped staff out when they have needed help financially. I will always look after my staff in anyway possible and reward them for their hard work with bonuses or buying them drinks when they finish work. I treat them all on their birthdays or buy them drinks for work when I am out and about shopping. I am a firm believer of look after your staff and they will look after you

About Charity Work at The Pendas Arms

We held our first charity funday this year raising. Money for st Gemma’s hospice. This will be a yearly thing going forward supporting local charities.
We raise money all year round for McMillan

If someone is holding an event we always donate for raffles etc

If we have a regular raising money for a charity we will donate towards it ourselves

We also have started collecting selection boxes for Leeds hospital charity at Christmas time.

We have been in the pub for a year so we are only jist starting the the charity events but will be working lots of local charities in the future and am in contact with some.
