What is an online proctored exam?

An online proctored exam is a remote assessment where a test taker’s desktop, webcam, and microphone are monitored during a timed exam to ensure test integrity and prevent cheating. This monitoring can be done by a human proctor watching the exam in real-time, or by software that records and analyses the data for later review.

  • We remind candidates that mobile phones, headphones, or other internet enabled devices are not permitted to be in the room. They should be placed out of the reach of the candidate at all times during the examination.
  • Please ensure you have no backgrounds on your camera as this will void your examination.
  • You will need to take your exam under normal exam conditions. You must ensure you are in a private quiet room by yourself. If someone else is seen or heard in the room with you your exam will be void.
  • You will be required to complete steps before your exam starts, this includes a full 360 view of the room you are taking your exam in. If another person is seen in the room your exam will be void.
  • The candidate must always be visible to the invigilator during the examination.
  • Your microphone will be used during the examination, if another voice is heard in the room with you your exam will be void.
  • You must focus on your screen during the examination, if you are seen to be looking around the room or looking down for periods of time this can be seen as cheating and your exam will be void.
  • Notes are not to be used during the exam.
  • Please ensure you answer all questions to the best of your ability.
  • Please do not smoke or vape during your exam as this will void your exam.
  • Failure to comply will result in your exam being void and you will need to resit the exam. (fees may apply)
