Our sector is facing the most challenging time it has seen in recent years. The #OurPub campaign has been growing in strength, with many of you asking your teams and customers to write to their local MP, calling for support for pubs. Last week, Labour MP, Liam Byrne stated “You can’t rebuild Britain without backing pubs,” and urged small businesses to speak directly to their MPs to help them understand the reality of the challenges you face.

Our CEO, Steve Alton and the entire BII team do all we can to take your voices directly to Ministers and officials in Westminster, but we are not alone in fighting for our pubs and their survival. Alongside the recently launched UKH #TaxedOut campaign and the BBPA’s Long Live the Local movement, as well as countless other trade associations and organisations like CAMRA, we are all showing Government how the 2024 Autumn Budget has impacted our fragile but vital sector, and calling for the support that you need and deserve.

Please help us, by sparing two minutes to get your teams, customers and suppliers to write to their local MP via the #OurPub campaign – it really is a very simple ask. The more MPs understand that the huge increase on tax you have to bear is destroying your ability to remain at the heart of your communities, the better. We really are stronger together, and asking your locals for their support really could make all the difference.
